ServSafe® Certification Classes

ServSafe Food Safety Program

ServSafe® is the oldest and most widely respected food safety training program in the world. It is a comprehensive program that provides participants with the knowledge needed to safely prepare and serve food in a commercial foodservice setting. Wheelwright Consultants has been providing ServSafe® training since 1998.

Eric F. Nusbaum, Ph.D., CHA, has provided food safety training to thousands of individuals. Eric has created a truly excellent program, with his students' high test scores speaking for themselves. Kim McCarthy is currently teaching classes in Massachusetts and follows Eric's curriculum as well as adding her own material to the course.

We offer approximately 20-25 English programs a year in Massachusetts and Connecticut, Spanish programs are also available when in sufficient demand. Choose from several classroom and language options.

Initial Certification

All classes run from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM with a lunch break.

Pre-registration is REQUIRED.

Program cost in $185.00 and does NOT include the Massachusetts' Food Allergen Training Certification.

A one hour lunch break is taken. Participants are on their own for lunch.

Recertification

We occassionally offer special "recertification" classes for those who have previously taken the ServSafe examination. This is a shorter class for people who are working in a commercial kitchen every day.

We currently do not have any of these shorter classes scheduled. Our recent experience suggests that relatively few people can remember all the information relative to the Servsafe exam. Additionally, the changes that have occurred in the food code over the past few years are part of the exam. Currently, we are recommending that even people being recertified take the full course.
